Jim Chaney is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. Jim has been working in schools nearly for twenty years and now works in private practice in addition to the school setting. Jim has an art degree, master's in Education, and a master's in Counseling and Preventative Mental Health from Creighton University. He is dedicated to working with children and families, as well as adults. His specialty is working with families to help them become the best version of themselves through communication, empathy, understanding, expectations, boundaries, respect, support, and love. Jim helps families navigate all of today’s challenges such as stress, time management, technology, economic pressures, healthy lifestyle choices, and balancing responsibilities. He focuses on helping families stay committed to each other and to their collective growth. Jim specializes in behavioral concerns, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, divorce, peer relationships, school issues, and parenting. Jim has a unique background with an extensive amount of experience in schools and within the home. Jim has training and experience in the following evidence-based fields, TF-CBT, PCIT, Art Therapy, SSET, Play Therapy, and SFT. Jim specializes in supporting families and individuals with realistic and achievable goals. Understanding the unique challenges and strengths of each individual client is crucial for success in therapy.
